One of the world's premier youth performing arts companies, providing circus training and contemporary performance for artists aged between 8 and 18. Supervised by some of the world's foremost exponents of this artform, their academic education occurs at a specifically created school, which equips them for life in and outside the circus.
The Flying Fruit Fly Circus / Artistic overview
The aim of The Flying Fruit Fly Circus is to engage, inspire and amaze, and our vision is to create innovative work to an international standard. Several shows are in repertoire at any time. Each year new work is at different stages of its artistic cycle (development, production, or touring). Shows are designed to be flexible, and can be adapted to indoor or outdoor venues. Works are suitable for a variety of presenter/festival networks. All shows are ‘venue specific’ designed.

Founded in 1979, the company has toured internationally to Japan, Canada, Hawaii, Singapore, New Zealand, Italy, China, the UK and the US. In Australia the circus regularly performs at festivals including the Melbourne International, Melbourne Comedy, Sydney, Out of the Box (Brisbane, Hoopla (Sydney), and Iris Festival (Rainbow). Special events include: 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony and Cultural Festival; Closing Ceremony of the XVIII Melbourne Commonwealth Games. The FFFC have received several awards, including a Gold Medallion in Le Cirque de Domain Competition, Paris.
