David Clarkson has studied release based movement & dance techniques both in Australia & overseas with Lisa Nelson (Contact Improvisation) Joan Skinner, Eva Karczag (Centre for New Dance Development, Holland), Stephanie Skura & Jennifer Monson. He has also trained in mask, mime, butoh, acrobatics, acting, improvisation & various aerial techniques.
Rachael Swain, co-artistic director of Stalker and artistic director of Marrugeku has pioneered challenging new approaches to Australian physical theatre and intercultural performance drawing on experimental dance and multi media practices and processes.
Since its inception in the late 1980s, Stalker's explorations into explosive physical theatre and new choreographic and interdisciplinary processes have placed them at the leading edge of Australian contemporary performance practice. Stalker’s relationship with Marrugeku is an ongoing collaboration that brings traditional and contemporary Indigenous artists together with physical theatre practitioners.
