Philip Mitchell joined Spare Parts Puppet Theatre 2001 after many years as a performer and director with Tasmania’s Terrapin Puppet Theatre. For SPPT, Philip has devised and directed many original and innovative productions including the stage adaptation of Marjory Williams' The Velveteen Rabbit and Shaun Tan’s The Arrival. In 2008 Philip was Artistic Director of the 20th World Puppetry Festival, hosted by SPPT and centred in the city of Perth, Western Australia.
