Stephen Bird Bocage with Jesus and beast
The densely patterned surfaces of familiar images, drawn from recent trips to India or Australia are suggestive of the 'global, transcultural nature of myths'. Bird’s use of words, collage and found objects fits with the idea of artist as 'obsessive ethnographer and obsessive collector of data'.
