Ricky Swallow / Artist biography
Ricky Swallow graduated from the drawing department of the Victorian College of the Arts in 1996. While he continues to make and exhibit drawings, Swallow is best known for his three-dimensional work. Swallow's sculptural objects and installations draw on a range of themes and sources, including popular culture, the tradition of natura morte imagery, the passage of time, and pop music. Swallow's works are meticulously crafted out of different types of media, resulting in work that is at once a replica of, and an homage to, the original subject.
