Michelle Nicolle / Artist biography
Michelle Nicolle has had a lifelong interest in and passion for music and has been singing jazz professionally since 1987. She graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Education (Music), where she also undertook an Associate Diploma of Jazz. When not touring Nicolle teaches vocal studies at Monash University in Melbourne and guest-lectures at Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium.

Michelle Nicolle has released five albums to high acclaim. Nicolle received Mo Awards (Australian Entertainment Industry) in 2001, 2003 and 2004, and at the 1998 Wangaratta International Jazz Festival, Nicolle won the prestigious National Jazz Award. Nicolle received the Australian Jazz Vocalist of the Year Aria Award three times (2001, 2003 and 2004). The Michelle Nicolle Quartet have toured Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, Estonia, and Finland, and performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival (Holland), the Java Jazz (Indonesia) and Ozmosis Festival in Singapore.
