Mark Edgoose has set out to rigorously challenge what constitutes contemporary object making. His current research focuses on the space and habitation aspects of the craft object. In part, it is about the re-orientation of the experience of the craft object.

Mark Edgoose currently lectures in Gold & Sliversmithing at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He has exhibited at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, and the Powerhouse Museum and Object Gallery, Sydney. Achievements include a large silver commission to commemorate the Federation of Australia for Government House, NSW. In 2000 he exhibited at the Australian Silver exhibition held at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. National awards and prizes include the National Craft award, NGV. Work held in public collections includes the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
