HotHouse Theatre is at the vanguard of regional theatre practice in Australia and since 1979 has introduced over 70 new works to the national theatre canon.

HotHouse Theatre is a company driven by the unique artistic leadership of a seven member artistic directorate that embraces the notion of nurturing new works in a hothouse environment and that is determined to bring the regional voice to the metropolitan stage.

HotHouse Theatre’s commitment to providing quality contemporary theatre to regional audiences has seen the company become an integral part of the national theatre industry. HotHouse offers an annual subscription season, regularly tours works nationally, operates a Drama School, youth theatre festival and training program, commissions leading Australian playwrights to create new work and runs the national artist residency program, A Month in the Country.
