Dean Walsh is a well respected dancer, choreographer, collaborator and teacher. He has been a core member of the independent dance and contemporary performance community in Sydney since 1991 and now also mentors younger and emerging artists in the community.

Dean Walsh has created a number of solo works including the highly acclaimed, full length work Flesh: Memo. Walsh has won and been nominated for numerous Australian dance awards and this has led to appointments in Europe and the UK, most notably, a two year contract with DV8 Physical Theatre in London.

Walsh is currently establishing a company called TheHumanHive which will act as an artists’ support and exchange platform. It will also house and produce his own future group and solo works. Back From Front is Walsh’s first full length group work and will mark the beginning of TheHumanHive. This work will premiere in Sydney in 2008.
