Callum Morton is known for his large-scale, architecturally referential installations. He has recently been selected to produce a major large-scale public art work in Melbourne, due for completion in 2008.

Morton has an interest in the relationships between private and public space, reality and illusion, interior and exterior. Morton continues to create architectural conundrums, exploring modernism and debris, most recently in his startling new site-specific installation, Valhalla for the 52nd Venice Biennale.

Morton won a Gold Medal representing Australia at Triennale India in 2004. Recent shows include: Busan Biennale, Busan, Korea, 2006; High Tide: Currents in Contemporary Australian Art, Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Poland and Contemporary Art Centre, Lithuania, 2006; 2nd Auckland Triennial, New Zealand, 2004, and Face Up: Contemporary Art from Australia, Hamburger Bahnhof, Germany 2003. Morton has been represented by Anna Schwartz Gallery for over a decade; recent exhibitions at Anna Schwartz Gallery include Mini Monuments in 2006 and Gas and Fuel in 2002.
