Blanche Tilden creates contemporary, mechanically-inspired pieces that challenge conventional ideas about the use of glass in jewellery. 
Blanche Tilden / Artist biography
Blanche Tilden studied Glass and Jewellery at Sydney College of the Arts, and is a graduate of both the Glass and Gold, and Silversmithing workshops at the Canberra School of Art. Tilden has the benefit of considerable experience and instruction, having attended master classes at Pilchuk International Glass School and mentoring with glass artist and jeweller, James Minson. Tilden also completed a traineeship with jeweller Susan Cohn. Most recently she presented a paper about her practice at the 38th Annual Glass Art Society Conference in Portland, USA.

Blanche Tilden’s work is held in public collections nationally and internationally, and she currently maintains her own practice in Melbourne. Tilden has exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Japan, the Netherlands, and Germany. Tilden’s work is held in public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the SAXE collection, US, and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. Most recently, her work has been acquired by the Toledo Art Museum, USA.
