Big hART is one of Australia's highest producing and most critically acclaimed arts and social change organisations, creating new works with unusually inspiring communities and individuals. These long-term projects generate high quality art, capturing unusual stories and creating new box office for festivals and presenters. 
Big hART / Artistic director biography
Multi-award winning writer/director Scott Rankin has overseen numerous productions for Big hART. Projects include; Ngapartji Ngapartji, a theatre work and Pitjantjatjara language and cultural learning experience; Drive In Holiday, an outdoor cinematic work; Radio Holiday, an outdoor radiophonic work performed as a small shack community with its own radio station; and Junk Theory, a floating film, portraiture and sound installation, performed on a Chinese junk.

Founded by John Bakes and Scott Rankin in 1992, Big hART is a critically acclaimed arts and social change arts organisation. Big hART offers presentation-ready works as well as new templates for producing work with communities to boost box office, attract diverse funding and revitalise performing arts centres. The company works across artforms and creates theatre, film, television, painting, photography, dance, new media and radio. In the last three years Big hART has been invited to many major Australian arts festivals and international film and new media festivals.
