Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) / Artistic director biography
Garry Stewart studied ballet and contemporary dance before turning to choreography as a career. As a freelance choreographer, he has worked with some of Australia’s most notable contemporary dance companies. He began his award-winning role as artistic director at Australian Dance Theatre in 1999. In 2005, he co-produced Vocabulary with Restless Dance Company and also choreographed the award-winning dance film Nascent with UK filmmaker Gina Czarnecki.
