Belfast-born and Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, Andy has nine albums and a book of poetry to his name. Touring the world with his acoustic guitar and writing with the likes of Tim Finn and Peter Gabriel, Andy’s mix of charm, lyrical distinction and social concern make him an artist for our time.
Andy White / Artist biography
Growing up in the chaos of 1970s Belfast, Andy wrote poetry from an early age and picked up a guitar as a teenager after hearing John Lennon on the radio. Social concern as well as poetry has informed his work from the start, and he has worked tirelessly as a performer and writer since his debut in 1986. Moving to Australia in 2002 has proved a rebirth artistically, expanding both his literary and musical horizons, as he enjoys the view from his window in the hills outside Melbourne.
