I am an Australian artist. What additional resources are available to assist with my international tour?

Through its international network of embassies, consulates and high commissions, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is able to provide Australians travelling internationally with valuable on the ground information, resources and assistance.  DFAT has also established a number of bilateral bodies to support Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio objectives in key bilateral relationships. For information on funding, grants and scholarships, visit http://www.dfat.gov.au/councils/index.html.

Similarly, the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) may be able to assist with on the ground support and contacts, or with financial assistance through their Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) program.

How do I contact an artist/company listed on the OzArts website?

Just click on 'contact the artist', located on the upper right hand side of the artist or company's OzArts webpage.

How do I find out which Australian artists and companies are currently touring internationally?

There are three easy ways to keep up to date on current and upcoming tours by Australian artists:

  1. Check the events page and search for upcoming tours and events in your region
  2. Subscribe to OzArts eNews
  3. Visit an artist profile page and click on the ‘Tours and presentation’ tab

We have YouTube videos. Can we send you a link so they can be included in our OzArts profile?

Unfortunately, we are unable to include YouTube video links on the website. OzArts is an interactive site that helps users to get a fuller appreciation of the artists profiled by providing dynamic examples of work. In the case of video files, the OzArts website has purpose built functionality that requires artists to send us physical digital files for upload.

What are the technical requirements for video upload to OzArts?

There are four important factors to consider when deciding which video to upload to your OzArts profile:

  1. The files should a maximum of 30 MB, anything larger is impossible to upload to the OzArts system.
  2. The less compressed a video file the better it will look on OzArts. Compressed files can easily become pixelated during the conversion process they go through in preparation for upload to OzArts.
  3. Video files should be a minimum of 640 pixels by 480 pixels. Larger pixel size is fine, but anything smaller can lead to pixelation during the conversion process.
  4. Supported videos file types for OzArts include:
  • avi
  • mpeg
  • mpg
  • mpe
  • dat (VCD)
  • vob (DVD)

How many videos and/or mp3s can be uploaded to my OzArts profile?

There is space on each OzArts artist profile to hold a maximum of three videos and/or mp3s at a time. The site is constantly updated, though, so new videos and/or mp3s can replace older files at any time.

How many works can be included in an OzArts artist profile?

There is room to include details of up to six tour ready works. The details of each separate work promoted on OzArts are embedded into an image, so it is important to provide at least as many images as works you want promoted. As with all other aspects of OzArts, images, and therefore works, can be updated at any time.

How many images can be uploaded to my OzArts artist profile?

There is space on each artist profile to include up to six images at a time, which means an artist profile can include details of up to six works that are currently tour ready, or, alternatively, up to six images to promote one work.

What is the ideal size for OzArts image files?

The ideal image shape is square and the minimum size of the square should be 400 pixels x 400 pixels. The typical size for images on OzArts is 600 pixels high x 400 pixels wide. Anything larger is fine as we can reduce the size easily. Images that are longer/wider than they are high will be automatically cropped by the system, so it is important to provide images that fit with the ideal.
